The following outings have been arranged for 2018.

MIDDLETON HALL & GARDENS TUESDAY APRIL 10th.
COST £21 each to include coach, entrance, and guided tour with tea/coffee on arrival.
This is a short day trip to this grade two listed property, with over 950 years of history.
Set in 42 acres of beautiful countryside including a circular nature walk. It is an independent charitable trust which in the last 37 years has been gradually restored by dedicated volunteers.

CHIRK CASTLE, near Wrexham TUESDAY MAY 15th.
COST £16.50 each. N.T. property.
Completed by Lord Roger Mortimer in 1310, Chirk is the last Welsh castle from that date still inhabited. It offers medieval towers and dungeons, and 17th and 18th century rooms of the Myddelton family. The gardens contain ancient yews, herbaceous borders and rock gardens. There are stunning views over Cheshire and Shropshire plains.

LACOCK ABBEY, FOX TALBOT MUSEUM & VILLAGE, Chippenham. WEDNESDAY JUNE 20th.
COST £17.50 each. N.T. property.
The abbey was established here in 1232, nestled by the river Avon. It was turned from a nunnery into a tasteful home. There are attractive grounds, including woods, botanic garden, greenhouse and orchard. The work of Henry Fox Talbot, who created the first photographic negative is celebrated in the museum. The village, the backdrop to a number of period TV series, is beautiful, with many timber framed cottages and offers excellent tea-rooms and shops.

SHUGBOROUGH, Staffordshire - SATURDAY 14th JULY
Cost will be £14 to include the coach fare and walk. N.T. property.

A visit to Shugborough with an optional walk!

We hope to arrive at Shugborough around 10am, have a comfort break and drink, then walk approximately 4 miles in the extensive Shugborough estate. The planned walk may be altered depending on the weather etc. We will then be able to return to the coach to change footwear and access bags. The restaurant serves meals, but they cannot make reservations. The afternoon is free to explore the property, and we will leave at 5pm.

HARDWICK HALL, Derbyshire. THURSDAY JULY 26th.
COST £17.50 each. N.T. property.
Bess of Hardwick built Hardwick in late 16th century, and it has evolved over the centuries. Find out about Bess and Duchess Evelyn and the famous “Noble Women” embroideries. See the newly restored icehouse and duck decoy; and visit the Great Barn Restaurant.

BRISTOL. TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 4th.
Cost £12.50 each.
This is a free-flow, do it yourself day in the attractive and interesting city of Bristol. Bristol offers shops, a cathedral, historic docks and the opportunity to visit the amazing SS Great Britain.

BERRINGTON HALL, near Leominster. TUESDAY OCTOBER 2nd.

This fine Georgian mansion lies within ‘Capability’ Brown’s final garden and landscape. See the Walled Garden and Pleasure Grounds restoration project. Discover Brown’s Red Earth “Genius Loci” exhibition in the parkland. Visit new Stables Cafe.
