Kinver Edge Centenary Pathway Opening - Tuesday 11th September 2018.

Kinver Edge has been a National Trust property since 1917. To celebrate the centenary, it was decided to establish the Kinver Edge Centenary Pathway. This is a three and a half mile circular pathway across the Edge, linking with Blakeshall Common, heathland, woodland and the Rock Houses, and offers spectacular views. Over £170,000 has been raised to complete the pathway.

An official opening ceremony was held on Tuesday 11th September. Following light refreshments and speeches, a memorial plaque was unveiled by Sue Wright, the Chair of the Kinver Edge Committee, and Hilary McGrady, the Director General of the National Trust. The event was attended by over 100 invited guests from organisations involved in the fund raising.

Kinver Edge has experienced a dramatic increase in visitor numbers over the last few years, from 20,000 annually to over 50,000. Some extra land at the Worcestershire end of the property has been added, and plans are in hand to add additional parking, a picnic site, nature trails and a cafe in due course.
