Meeting - Thursday 17th December.

Our final meeting of 2015 featured Mike and Pat Ledbury with "A Victorian Family's Musical Christmas". They performed, in costume, many songs from the Victorian period.

In addition to tea and coffee, served by the committee members, were mince pies.

Meeting - Thursday 19th November.

Dr Colin Harris came along and gave us a very amusing talk about Midlands And British Curiosities. Among the subjects covered were Inventions, Pub Names, Nursery Rhymes, and Heath Robinson fantasies. He also brought along many strange objects for us to examine and try and guess their intended use.

Meeting - Thursday 15th October.

For our October meeting we had a talk and slide show called "Awaken to Africa" by Rosemary Morris and Bas Yates. They told us about their holiday to Tanzania, which was illustrated with many wonderful slides of some of the wild animals to be seen there.

Meeting - Thursday 17th September.

This month Brian Draper gave us a talk on "The Warwickshire Avon". He described this river from it's source at Naseby to Tewkesbury. As always, an entertaining and enjoyable talk.

Meeting - Thursday 18th June.

Our talk was by Christine Paterson, who many will remember from her talk about Burns Night in Moscow. Her subject this time was "On Tour with the D'Oyley Carte Opera Company", and it was very entertaining. She started by telling us how she was performing in Edinburgh, and had to get to London for an interview, and be back for the evening performance in Edinburgh, which she managed by using an overnight train.

There followed stories of her two years performing, mainly on tour. She is a wonderful speaker, and even those sat at the back of the hall could hear her!
